Will going green increase the value of your house?

Going green is what the future is all about, and, yes, it will increase the value of your house as well as its desirability, which results in better chances for re-sale.

Green renovating include:
    • For better air flow consider knocking down walls, opening up rooms, opening up outside walls, putting in wooden folding doors, and increasing the size of windows.
    • To control heat put in double glazing windows — they will also minimize noise pollution.
    • Use building products that are green: environmentally green paint and recycled timbers for floors and stairs.
    • Put in fresh water tanks.
    • Install solar heating and roof.
    • For a flat roof add a grass roof.
    • Change your light bulbs to energy efficient light bulbs.
    • Use rain barrels.
    • Eco-friendly paints are available and one can be assured that they are not giving off harmful fumes (volatile organic compounds — VOCs), therefore improving the air quality in the home.
